Matthew Caton is a cinematographer, producer and editor trained at the acclaimed NYU Tisch School of the Arts film program, and brings 20 years of industry experience. Matthew is trusted by the biggest names in television, streaming, and technology, and is widely recognized for his ability to tell intimate and compelling stories.
An avid traveler, Matthew approaches the craft of filmmaking and cinematography as a creative adventure. He loves to explore new environments, immerse himself in diverse cultures, and share unique stories with the world.
Matthew has been tapped by tech innovators to produce and edit promotional, thought leadership, and social pieces that expand brand reach and engage new clients. This has included working for companies such as Apple, Google, AWS, Accenture, Samsung, Box, CrowdStrike, HubSpot, Alliance Bernstein, and Tudor Investments.
Matthew has DP’d extensive Documentary and Television Projects including, most recently “This Is The Zodiac Speaking” limited series for Netflix, and “Mormon No More” for Hulu / ABC News Studios. He has also lensed the Emmy award-winning HBO documentary, “Assault in the Ring” as well as the Emmy nominated documentary, “White People.” Other documentary credits include ESPN 30 for 30, NBC, Sundance, MTV, and Hulu.
Matthew has also brought his cinematic eye to national commercial campaigns and branded content for brands like Kate Spade, Adidas, Crown Royal, JC Penney, and State Farm for companies like Time Inc/Meredith, and Vayner Media.
